About Us |
About Our Club The goal of our club is to teach members the basics of a topic ex sports and then follow-up with an activity ex Acadia Football field passes, to allow members a chance to practice the basics. The results of the photographic effort are then shown at the following meeting and there is an opportunity for feedback and if desired some critiquing. Relevant editing techniques will also be presented to help members "achieve" their goal. Monthly assignments are given and are specifically vague, usually lines, dots, numbers etc. that can only be taken that month. The purpose of this is to give members an alternative that they can creatively pursue on their own time and pace. These assignments will be the subject of the judging section. We encourage members with specialized skills ex bird photography or digital editing to make presentations to the membership. We are always interested in seeing well prepared (read short, ie. < 70) photo travelogues that will be entertaining and interesting to our membership. In 2010, we will actively recruit professionals from the photographic community to present new and interesting material. Finally, organized club outings (6 per year) provide an opportunity to apply new found skills and also interact and learn from other members. |
